So Will I (100 Billion X) Rehearsing God's faithfulness by Brittany C. Harris

So Will I (100 Billion X)

I have listened to this song about 100 Billion X over the last two days. (Corny. I know.)

In all seriousness, I can’t get past these lyrics:

“God of Your promise
You don’t speak in vain
No syllable empty or void
For once You have spoken
All nature and science
Follow the sound of Your voice
And as You speak
A hundred billion creatures catch Your breath
Evolving in pursuit of what You said.

I tell you what- these words are like life to my soul. Sometimes it’s hard to cling to God’s promised because literally everything, externally and internally, is opposing. But just to be reminded that God is faithful to His promise is just what I needed to hear.

The lyric says that nothing He says is without purpose. God isn’t like us. When He speaks, it creates. Anything He says has to happen because He is in complete control of EVERYTHING. There is no opposing force or opposing spirit that can stop what God has said and set in motion. When He created the Earth, He spoke and said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. AND THERE STILL IS LIGHT! Every day the sun comes up. Because when His word goes forth, it’s eternal.

Scripture after scripture after scripture reminds of God’s faithfulness to His word.

Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act Has he ever promised and not carried it through?

Hebrews 11:3 By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen.

Jeremiah 1:12 The LORD said to me, “You have seen correctly, for I watch over My word to accomplish it.”

My resolve is this: If all of creation obeys His word, then so will I. I will trust that when He speaks, it will happen. And that’s that.
